If you struggled to answer any of these questions, then make sure to join us for a free webinar on Emotional Intelligence on April 3, 2017.
Why Emotional Intelligence?
While technical and professional competence is essential in the workplace, emotional intelligence is a better predictor of success.
Our environments demand that we manage complex and rapid change, and make decisions in a climate of uncertainty. Being able to manage emotions and to recognize the emotions of others is critical when leading and coaching others.
During our live webinar we will review the importance of Emotional Intelligence, and provide an outline of the basic principles involved, which include:
Perceiving Emotions: The first step to understanding your emotions is learning how to accurately perceive them. This may involve understanding nonverbal communication, such as facial expressions and body language.
Reasoning With Emotions: This step promotes cognitive activity by understanding what we pay attention to, and how we react to different situations, and how we prioritize certain things (or feelings) over others.
Understanding Emotions: Understanding why someone is feeling a certain way is just as important as understanding how to handle it. For example, if your boss is upset with you it may not be a reflection of the quality of your work; they may be having a bad day; because they had a fight with their spouse, or a variety of other things.
Managing Emotions: Learning to regulate and manage your emotions, understanding how to respond to different situations, and managing other people’s emotions are all important aspects of emotional intelligence.
Executive Coaches and Emotional Intelligence (EI) Master Trainers Janice Gair and Hayley Hesseln will break these concepts down and help you develop a deeper understanding of your own emotions, and how to manage both yours and others’ emotions for maximum productivity and success.
