The Landscape of Business Has Changed Dramatically

One of the most notable areas of change in recent decades has been the shift from routine, repetitive measurable work, to work that involves critical thinking analysis and creativity. What is more effective for this emerging environment is competency in soft skills.

 

Expanding technology, changing populations and a much larger playing field for both opportunity and competition on a global scale have forced more rapid pace than ever before.

 

Over the past twenty years executive coaching has become recognized as a valued and effective service. The Conference Board of Canada (Report 2014) considers the market to be in a mature state. The use of business coaches has become increasingly popular over the past decade.

 

The IBIS Business Coaching in Canada report (December 2014) states that over the next five years to 2019, the overall marketplace will improve as the number of businesses and corporate profitability rise, thus increasing investment in professional development and management programs, where executive coaching is included.   While competition is likely to increase, executive coaching is entering the market.
